OSX Leopard Sux big time

Posted on December 20, 2007

This brand new OS, “The most advanced OS” sucks big time!!!

This OS is so damn unresponsive. it hangs all the time… i hate it.

(Update 10.5.2 doesnt hang anymore)

- Mail hangs, when I send email, search or read

- iTunes hangs, (becoming unresponsive)

- Safari hangs, and takes all my ram… up to 800 MB!!!

- The terminal console is lagging… and crashing. iTerm also becomes unresponsive.

- even textmate is crashing, not because of the textmate, but because of the OS.

It all happened after I installed Leopard..

TIGER WAS FINE….

I bought this DVD, 130 USD

and what I get??? this shit.

now I have to go back to tiger.

Use TIGER until apple fixes Leopard.

Use TIGER and wait for Snow Leopard (10.6)

Some Solutions:

Use OSX Tiger.
Use Firefox or Camino,
Use Thunderbird as mail client.

Update:

10.5.4 came out and still sux :-P

I wish I could feel your pain (ok well maybe I don't) but I have had none of these problems with Leopard.

I've had a boatload of issues with Leotard. Many of the issues are the same listed here. Other issues were Mail not showing message subjects, faulty localization (flashing Finder menu bar in non-English logins), and broken mysql. Maybe the problem happens when you upgrade from Tiger instead of doind a clean install. I may try a clean install once I get as frustrated as you. Imagine if the windows XP SP2 upgrade from SP1 was as bad as this one...

I did an archive install. not upgrade install.

maybe 10.5.2 update might fix these bugs..,

it's terrible to use... I can't stand with it anymore...

Hey Fred, I'm looking for a ROR developer at the moment to help me with a couple of short term projects. Send me an email if you have some free time at the moment.

Add this completely defeated new Mac owner to the people who hate Leopard. It hangs so badly on Apple mail, the app is almost worthless. Hangs at iTunes, and almost everything else. It's like a whiny, stubborn old man that doesn't want to do anything. I want my old iMac back.

Leopard 10.5.3 is coming soon. Around May.

it's also already available a developer test seed.
